    Roof Lining

I am now on my fourth Classic and was lucky with the previous models that the roof lining didn't fall away, however on my current '93 model my luck has run out and the lining is starting to fall away from the rear of the vehicle.

    My question please:

Is this an easy fix for a Land Rover specialist?

    Regards,
    Mike

It's so easy I wouldn't use an LR specialist. Go straight to a motor trimmer (auto upholsterer), do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Otherwise you pay the LR guy for his time plus the trimmer. Cut out the middle man.

if you are onto your fourth RRC, then I would imagine you are pretty handy at fixing things yourself

the sagging roof lining problem is an easy fix with the proper glues etc. Get down to your local upholsterer and have a chat with them and get some quality glues and you should be able to fix it yourself.

have you a pic of it, what stage and how bad is it?

    good luck

You are wasting your time if you try to reglue it. The foam backing is breaking down. Been there, tried that.

    X4 and 5 and 6.
Just paid $350 to get my BMW M3 headlining done in Gosford.
Rangie went a few years ago. I posted a while ago that The BMW had caught the virus.
They all use similar stuff and they all go in about 10-15 years.

I firmly believe it is one job to get an expert to do, as folds, wrinkles etc really make a car look asparagusy.

I'm having a good run with mine .
Fitted a brand spanker to my Classic in 2002 & 50% of it is sagging now .

And now the bloomin' P38 headlining is doing the same, around 30% flapping in the breeze.

At least I might get a group discount from the trimmer if I take both in at once .

If you know a good trimmer who'll do a discount for two P38As.....

Actually, one of the forum members is a motor trimmer up in the Blue Mountains - Blackheath I think. I could drop my car there then go to work by train.

I'm going to get a price from the trimmer we use at work & another one in Granville who is supposed to be good. I'll let you know how I go next week.
