A temporary solution, chaps! It keeps the lining out of your hair until you can get it fixed. If you have hair, that is. Or you're not shorty who wouldn't notice!

Willem - with the poverty pack Rangie - but at least the aircon works - thanks Ron! It was 42C on the Hume going home. That aircon was wonderful!

And its got chrome door handles, which even Ron's HSE hasn't got!

Sure Ron. Any ideas on how/where to do it though? I'll be taking my two in at the same time.

My plan was to see if I can grab some big cardboard boxes (hopefully there's some warranty headlinings at work) & transport them in that.

Otherwise, I can get a large pallet & use that to support the headlinings.

Both the above ideas involve using my 6x4 box trailer as transport.

Do you mind driving your car for a day or two without a lining?
If that's OK, how about removing what you can at home (pillar trims) & then driving down to my work. I can help you remove the lining & then I'll take all three down together.

I know my Classic lining is easy enough to remove by myself & I'm hoping Leslie will be able to help me remove the P38 one so I should be OK removing mine.

BTW, I called by the trimmer in Parramatta but it looks like he's still closed for the Christmas/New Year break .

I'll also cut out a sample from my linings today & double check that the trimmer can do a good match on the material.

No problems with driving without a head lining. I can go to your house and help you with yours.

If one put a cheap blue plastic tarp down in the trailer, that would keep them clean - but boxes would be even better for protection.

we fix commodore roof linings at work, when they start to fall down, gently peel the material of the cardboard back (once headlineing is out of car) then give it a wash for good measure, clean up any foam backing that might be left on the cardboard (fibergalss) shaping, then go to a automotive store and by some trim adhesive, we use 3m brand, read and follow the instructions on the can it is very important, otherwise the addhisve wont work as it should and you will be back it the same situation in no time. just take your time and keep the materail firm and wrinkle free, and make sure you have clean hands. you will use most if not all of the can of adhisve, buy the pressure pack trim adhisive as it gives a good smooth even coat of glue. but a brush on one works just as well, i hope this helps, and i picked up on the subject right as i didnt have time to read it all and kids and wife are sending me nuts.

If you want to re-do your own roof lining:

after it is removed from the vehicle, peal back the material that has dropped, throw it in the bin ... any old foam left behind is a pain

remove any of the old foam from the cardboard backing with a Scotch pad or a bit of course marine carpet

If you go to an Auto trimmer or Upholstering Distributors Aust you can get some new roof lining, Leopard Skin, snake skin, even material with a thin foam already attached, whatever you want, prices vary so know how much you need.

Spray a good quality auto adhesive (we use marine grade) on the roof lining and the now clean cardboard backing, not too wet, your not washing the material.

Be patient, when the glue is tacky your ready to go, I suggest you get help holding one end up while you gently place the other down to make contact, when both pieces come into contact they want to stay together.

After the whole roof lining is laying in place slowly using a one direction wipe, at this time you will be getting any air bubbles, etc out, apply pressure to fully attach the both pieces to make one.

    Good Luck

    Glenn

Oi! I have a "Pov Pack" too, but at least my roof lining isn't sagging.

You can see from the pic how neat it is, although it seems to be covering the hole where the sunroof should be.. oh, yeah I've got a "Pov Pack"

My old HSE did have the sag though, but I could never bring myself to attacking the lining with a staple gun.
