I have a 1/85 phase11 Manual, and only have key-lock on drivers door, L/H door is manual I had to replace a broken outer handle and the inner door panel plastic was still sealed, so it would have had been an original unit, it could also be the difference between the "Poverty Pack" and the Hi-Line,Vogue. Not much help, but may clear up a cloudy issue.

You could be onto something there Uncle H, the replacement body was indeed one of the poverty packs with the camel coloured trim instead of the grey trim of my HiLine.

Perhaps I need to find a smash repairer who has adjusted the things.

I bought my 1/85 manual 4 door from Maitland late last year, from the markets, spinnfx camel brown, with matching interior, there is no colour tag on it but think it could be Sahara Sand non-metalic, or beige, would like to find out the colour so I can touch up marks.

Now this will drive you nuts .......

Front Passenger door lock / unlock .... = Spring on the locking mechanism was too loose or too powerfull /// hard to explain // but you have to take the door panel off ... have a look inside the door ... You will see a spring // either lube it or adjust it

Basically ... you have to lock it / unlock it via the "actuator" and study how it works on the lock mechanism for a 1/2 hour ... and lube & adjust accordingly

Take the lock mechanism out of the door to fiddle with it ....


OR .... Make sure that the "actuator" is getting the FULL 12 volts ...

Hi Diana, the actuator is mounted on a plate which is slotted for adjustment. The other possibility is it is just a lazy actuator. The original RRC ones are quite overcomplicated and prone to internal friction and wearing out. I have had great success fitting aftermarket actuators to these aswell as being cheap(about $15 each when bought as a $59 Kit of 4) they are quicker in operation and very efficient. Makes like Vision etc make central locking kits, I just use the actuators out of them and throw away the other stuff

G`day , for 84/5 non metalic brown colours were .... Arizona Tan = 85+ ...... Russet Brown = 80/1/2/3/4/5 ........ Sahara Dust = 71 through 85 .

In addition to my previous post, the aftermarket actuators in these kits are a direct fit, and only require the wiring to be soldered to the OE plug from the old actuator and presto, like new.
