People running LPG what volume size and physical dimension size tanks are you running and what sort of km are you getting out of them on a trip.

I have a flat tank in the rear floor area, looks like 3 scuba tanks attached together. It is boxed in so effectively the load area is raised buy about 15cms. It has a 67ltr capacity however the most I have ever filled it to after running dry is 58 and a bit litres. Today I run out after 292klms and filled 58.1ltrs. This was mostly driving around Perth for work.

I have a 65L tank in the back cargo area runs down the opposite side to the spare wheel takes up a fair bit of space but still workable. I am getting 300Km and that's not down to quite dry but getting close and a refill of 63L. But I am running a quadrajet with Impco gas horn on top.

i have a scuba tank set up( i think is small), i regularly put in around 40 liters of gas every 2 days and am getting about 150kms from it driving it very easily and not going to 110kmh but i have been slack in changing my plugs leads and dizzy cap, i run a rover efi v8, i am sick a going to the servo to fill up, i swear the girl behind the counter thinks why don't you just fill it up all the way. lol i am also running a impco gas set up

I think even for a Rangie that is a little bit excessive. I would check the timing, The Vacuum advance unit on the dizzy is still functioning and the vacuum hole on the plenium chamber is not blocked. Then maybe consider a service. Also check that the cylinder sits nice and level, if not adjust it and you might get more gas in. If you always use the same servo is the forecourt level, if not face the car downhill it will make a difference or at least is does on mine. There is a Servo in Denmark where the forecourt is so steep by the LPG pump I only got 34 ltrs from empty, turned the car around and got in an extra 24.

its getting a spark plug dizzy change soon, then its getting gas mixture reset. i know its useing to much gas i can smell it, i actually posted a thread about it a while ago and didn't get much help on the subject, so thanks for you reply..

Hi,

Something is not right with only 150kms / 40 l. I get 4k's to the litre on a trip with a 350 that runs a little bit rich.

On the tank size Q........ you can fit a 120 l tank across behind the back seat, but you lose the ability to sleep in the back. Mine was like this with an 80l tank when I bought it. (74 2 door)

The new version has an 80l tank opposite the spare tyre running lengthwise. Shorter and fatter, raised up to clear the wheel well. Have a box of spares underneath, out of the way. Really good arrangement.

My 92 RRC Vogue has twin tanks underneath where the petrol tank used to be. I can usually get 80+ litres in when it is empty - the best I've had is 83.7 litres. The installation was done by Ritters before I owned the car and it has been trouble free.

There is a thirty litre petrol tank also.

I know of one local RR with a single 130lt tank in the back and another RR with straight gas with one tank in the back and two underneath for a usable 170lt !
