Thumbs up Looking for a RRC

Ive been looking round the net for a 1986-89 RRC manual with a bigger engine (4-5L) in good nick however most of the cars im finding are auto and im getting more and more confused as to what to pay for one any tips? Im sure a similar question has arisen many times before here. If anyone knows of such a car in VIC i'd love to know.

    Cheers,
    Stuart

    Have you seen this one?

Your approach for $$$ on "reasoning and thought pattens" for modified rides

Don't get hung up on the manual bit .... Have you ever tried to do a engine mod? .. Be gratefull that they are available, and some else has done the hard yard & $$ for you

You have to appreciate each ride on it's own merits .... The price usually reflects a huge discount from it's true built price .... and has nothing to do with "Red book value"

She looks great. I dont really have the time to change the box over ,thats the reason why id prefer the manual. however ill think about it because im wondering how important having a manual is to me but i rly enjoy driving them

Yes, the armrests are great. I don't know how I managed before RRs .

That car looks good for the price but you'd want to check the body out. It's strange that there's no rear bar too but an ARB bar would fix that .

I've taken out one of the dash top vents to use as a cup holder, i find it holds a large flat white quite well...and the ams rests are pure luxury..

Rangie looks nice too by the way..

Also keeps your coffee warm, just turn on the heater

With RRC's you get what you pay for but you do pick up a few cheap gems around for little money. Paid $850 for my 88 Rangie late last year, owes me with the rear air locker, flares and a few other bits and pieces about $4K (had a set of tyres already off the pother rangie and used them again on this vehicle). I like to do things on the cheap to keep costs down and had my day spending up $$$ on Rangies.

    Just a thought.

All of the Land Rovers come with similar gear boxes, none of them really strong enough to take a very powerful motors.
the Autos are more suited for that although you will loose some power.

The toughest gearbox is the LT95. Its the early model 4 speed and its truck like.

May I suggest to get a good Rangie basic as you like and put a new 4.6 with Wolf or Haltech engine management in.
That way you spend money and know what you have.
I have had two like that and a high compression 4.6 with Haltech is great.

My auto had no problems and I should never have sold it.

There is a thread here on a new manufactured 4.6 block of much higher quality sold through RPI in the UK.
Sounds great if they solved the problem of cracking blocks.
