    I don't recall ever seeing curves for a 300Tdi.

I have had troubles finding them on the net...But does anybody know the peak torque/power at certain rpm so i can get an idea of how the motor compares.

I am sure it would be a tougher longer lasting motor if its anything like its brother motor and as for economy im sure it is similar to the 300 as well?

I have seen many reports in UK forums that the 4JB1T performs much better than the 300Tdi, when both have been tweaked.

Here are curves for the 4BD1. The 4JB1T can easily produce more power than the 4BD1, but does not have the torque from idle that a 4BD1 produces.

Cheers everyone i really like the idea of going to a isuzu as well they are strong motors i would stick with the 4JB1T as it will give similar performance to what i have now with similar economy that is to othe 300Tdi..and it is a better motor for day to day driving.

But as for money wise i already have a 30Tdi so i would only need to pay for the kit to fit it. Rather then the kit and a motor.

    Cheers James.

Nothing wrong with the V8 if the fuel economy isn't an issue. I find by the time you spend the $$$ on converting it, will but you a lot of fuel unless you DIY and can do it to a budget. I'm just not a diesel fan, it would seem weird if I was to drive one

I like my V8, not a powerhouse but mine has 400K on the clock and it still goes, doesn't use oil and run great once warm and now sounds like a V8 should as I have done some exhaust work for that reason (the early EFI when cold is a dead set pig).

Rangies are the superior vehicle in many ways and can be had for near bugger-all price these days although as mentioned in posts before, some greedy sellers are marking them up due to the fact they're starting to get hard to find especially in QLD these days (plenty of **** ones around, good ones I'm refering to).

This is my point of view also ...
Some folks buy a car ... spend 4 grand on conversions and recon they saved fuel money ... Hog wash ... By the time you caught up & the conversion paid for itself ... Your ready to upgrade the car

Diesels have advantages if you want to do many long outback trips. Converted my rangie long ago for those long trips. Could have bought a 300tdi disco, but they're not the same .
