What Year/Price

My 89 model. I have put 93 SE wood in the dash to add some class. I've had this one for a wile now and still enjoy it the most of all my vehicles. Has seen a lot of action including submerging it on a sand Island:eek: so now is due for a freshen up.

This is the dash of my 84Ph 11 (Now in a thousand pieces)similar to around 87 only they have different door trims. I don't like the brown trim:(

What are the differences between the Classics, Hiline and Vogue? ;)... are these just levels of trim?

Electric mirrors and windows started iun about '85. My '86 certainly had them.

If I was shopping for another classic, I'd look for an early 90s model - pre EAS and ABS and 3.9 litre. At least with 90s models one can retrofit earlier non-ABS braking systems.

I would suggest '87 as the earliest (the split rear seat was introduced then). Later models use the same key for the rear windo as for the front doors. Very good!

I'd avoid the sunroof. Again, one can retrofit an earlier plain roof to an RRC.

Prices? No idea.

Due to having to spend a lot of time overseas I am considering selling my 94 classic:
Kilometres: 170,000k's, five speed manual 3.9l
Colour:Aegean green, body is straight, no dings, a few car park scratches
tyres: 95 percent tread.
EAS: In recent months I have had the EAS totally rebuilt, new compressor, it actually works.
ABS: The vehicle is in the shop while I am away overseas getting a new accumulator fitted.
I have no idea what price to put on this and will not be able to send any photos of it until I get back to Aussie in August.

I am still searching for that ideal Range Rover model, I think i may have found it...

Seeing i spend so much time in my car i am after the best interior i can get. I have been looking at these "soft dash" models and they seem to be very inviting but no doubt a fair bit more coin?

I have decided a Range Rover Vogue SE Soft Dash would be the perfect Range Rover so my questions are.

1. Are these easy to find?
2. What years did they make them?
3. How much would be a normal price for one in clean straight condition?

Also what year did the ABS and ESP and airbags come in? as these three things might impact on some of the modifications i have planned for the vehicle.

As for trim is the SE the only one with leather trim?

No they're a bit hard to get because people who have them don't want to part with them. All have EAS, ABS and are high spec so good for town and mild off-road not for thrashing I almost bought one a couple of years back but it would have been sad to see it with dents, hacked for big tyres and flogged. Plenty of older, easier to obtain and cheaper alternatives for that :twisted:

SE spec is the only one with leather, Vogue Plus, Vogue and pov packs all have cloth. I like leather, just not the electric controlled memory seats more **** to play up :mad:.

Am i on my own here...

I have a 98 D1 and i personally think the dash and center console are perfect... But i am obviously after a Range Rover Classic as i like the exterior i find them to be a much better looking car. But when it comes to interior i am slightly frustrated by the smaller center consol and lack of glove box (i find the lack of a glove box to be a silly move on Land Rovers behalf)

BUT nothing beats that wood trim in the Vogue and leather seats with arm rests, which i was told are the reason for the smaller center console.

Am i right in saying the Discovery has a better dash and center console set up? Has anyone made up some sort of glove box? or managed to retro fit a late D1 center console in?,or will the arm rests get in the way?

I am torn between the two and i think this will end with me keeping the disco saving more coin and buying a range rover as well... One for touring and one for the rough stuff maybe :twisted:

I'm sort of thinking along the same lines.
Bought an '86 EFI auto - a bit broken, but cheap & fixed it, but didn't really like aspects of the 'package': steering wheel (since fitted early Disco1 wheel); column stalks & dash generally; gas tank in the cargo area takes up too much room; someone mentioned it - different key for the tailgate; could do with more 'go' - 3.9+litres would be nice; etc.
Decided to look around for a 1992-93 Vogue SE with the leather and wood - preferably in dark green with tan trim (would really have liked a 1994 'soft dash' but they seem to start at $8K & go up).
Haven't had much luck in finding a cheap (did I mention I like cheap?) Vogue SE, so the latest purchase is the shell of a wrecked Disco1 update, with tan cloth interior.
The plan is to swap the Disco dash, seats & door trims over - I'll get a glove box then!, but will still have work to do on the rest of the areas.
I know it's been done before, but how hard? & what are the traps / tricks?
