Mark? have you been drinking Tasmanian Apple Schnnaps?
From outside looks terrible and form inside you are loosing all the good points of the seating position of the RR.
Do not be slack and build a proper carrier

    We have a swing away.

I don't like the look on the bonnet, personal preference.

I think it looks good on the bonnet Mark.

It takes the attention off that bling snorkel, bonnet vents & that awful green.

Another reason NOT to put it on the bonnet .... You will get done for "obscured vision" ... which will mean the car is not roadworthy untill it is removed

I'm tempted by a swing away carrier but I think it's a pain to move it out the way all the time when going into the back of the car.

A lot of them also move around a bit over rough roads which might/might not be a long term problem. I guess it depends on how well it's made like any accessory.

Until I can work out a carrier that suits me, I throw mine up on the roof rack.

I can open my upper tailgate without moving the wheel.

The carrier has been on for about three years now, no movement or fatigue failures.

yeah, thought of that but I dont know about it. It has a few issues with clearance, top heavienessand getting it off but has the benefit of storing extra stuff like fuel and camping gear.

I just dont know about leaving the roof rack on all the time, any thoughts

do you reckon just two rails or a full length rack?

    google is your friend

    what about this one

looks very slim line, which I like and houses a jack and fuel. I dont like the big bulky fang dangled racks. this one looks good he says its a factory rack, anyone seen one like that here?

for the copyright gurus, its here forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3846520
