Well... for comparison I had to drag the "fart cart" again today.... This Time with a 4BD1 T. What a difference I can asure you
On the same slight up hill the 3.5 couldn't pull 4th and had to rev the claw out of it to hold 100 kmh. The 4BD1 120 did id easy in 5th and only part throttleThey are a great towing engine for sure.
Not a Rangie but I think is relevant to this thread
I know I should not tow in 5th slot but it does it so easy![]()
Noooooo I know it is tempting but don't tow in 5th with the LT85. The later R380's are actually stronger in 5th gear than the Sanata is
If you want to tow at 100+ km/h, fit 33's and a 1:1 TF case High range and use 4th.
Why have a V8?????
JC
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
33s going back on soonThe LT85 is the worst part of the 120
Has had multi roller bearings fitted (Took some machining) and out put X drilled though. You right about 5th. The 4BD1 will eat the gear box if 5th used hard
Why a V8..... Smooth wide torque curve, Doesn't eat gear boxes and Doesn't sound like a billy goat farting in a jam tin
Can't have it both ways
My wife and I have plans to find an LSE and 4BDI it. But I must finish all my other projects 1st. Hang on I can't...... Just counted my days.I'm going to have to let some of them go
Tony
I know you'll like to see a 20 yr old 3.5 in pain again
The poor old rangie is on tow duty againProblem is we need the 5 seats so the 120 is out this time.
This time my wife is on her ownHelping out a friend out. Told her to stick it in third other than going down steep hills
Then will need 2nd to hold it
This thing needs a repower very soon![]()
Here we go againTowing a japper on a trailer to Sydney via Cessnock and also have to bring one back with me.
Don't forget to wave when you overtake me![]()
