Mate, I have a similar issue which I posted a request for too - got no responses.
I'll follow this with interest. If you work it out, would you mind letting me know too?!!![]()
Hullo,
does anyone know how the aircon / blower / heating system orks in a classic ( 1988 ) rangie?, aircon works fine, however, cant get any air onto the windscreen at all, and if i use it on the 'outside' air setting with aircon off, i get no air at all anywhere, face, feet windscreen.
i do get hot air with the heater, so that works.
Any idea's where i should start looking to make sure all pipes etc are heading where they should?
ta,
Ray

You need to read the owners manual for your RR.
IIRC, the only A/C vents are the face level vents.
To demist, put the switches/levers into the 'red' positions.
Scott
Your vents are not switching? Have you got the left slide in downwards or set on max demist? The right slide does bugger all unless left one is down in both of mine. Are they vacuum operated? Is a linkage off a bell crank? Ph11 and earlier were cable operated and not prone to this trouble other than bell cranks snapping and felt seals leaking.
If no vacuum check in the engine bay first. You can find leaks by getting a smoker to take a puff and blow it down the tube. The smoke will come out through the offending leak
I had mine out not long ago so will try to find some pics of what it looks like.
Tony
Hi Scott,
If I put the levers into the red, it does didly squat..it's only when io have the AC on that anything happens at all.
Ray,
Mine mostly does diddly squat too, and I am pretty sure it is all working correctly.
Clearly the Poms had no idea about HVAC when they "designed" the system in the RRC.
