    air suspen to compressor

    Has any one thats removed airbags & put coils in, used the compressor
    & air tank as a tyre inflator? if so how did you wire it up to work
    manually? I've just done this to my lse & thought I might as well make
    use of the compressor & air tank.

    no bags they went in the bin, height sensors were stuffed too

    Yes and it works a treat.
    I removed the pump and manifold and made up a t from the pump to the tank keeping the existing tubing and then to a standard air female nitto ftting. Then ran an air hose from the compressor nitto fitting to a female nitto fitting inside the petrol filler cap recess. The Compressor is still in the original position, Manifold gone to another home.
    I used the existing pressure valve on the tank plus a couple of the existing now unused relays plus the on off switch situated under the drivers seat to turn it on or off using all the existing wiring as required.
    All in all cost very little, I got the air fitting t piece from Pyrtec for a couple of dollars. New compressor piston seal for 20 uk pounds and the main coiled hose, guage, and tyre inflater and nitto fittings from Bunnings for $20.
    Only thing I should have done and will get around to it one day was fit a one way valve directly after the compressor outlet as it leaks slowly back through the compressor after a while. I can pump up 3 tyres at garage forecourt speed then the last one at compressor speed as the tank empties.

    The only thing I could not work out at first was how to turn the compressor off by the tank pressure switch. The switch is Closed or ON at pressure and open or OFF at low pressure. Someone helped with diagram using a relay which is on the forum somewhere. If I can do it anyone can, its well worth the effort.

    Yes, I run an ex-air suspension compressor for tyre inflation in my 90. It's extremely quiet, but takes a while to air back up...

    ... I've just wired it to my aux battery (i.e. fused and relay switched). THe control (orange from memory) is isolated and doesn't do anything.
