Attached is the diagram for the cable. The hardest part is getting the plug you need for it. Mine came by way of an electric mirror harness surplus to a member here.

Now all I need is to find a laptop with a DB9 com port... thats harder than getting the plug I needed!!!! Do you think anyone makes a laptop with com ports anymore??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO............... :mad::mad::mad:

Andrew, I got an elcheapo/repo laptop for $180 which does everything needed. As long as you can get batteries, any old one will do.

Perhaps an alternative?

I was looking at something newish and there are com/USB dongles, but I have been told by many that the dongles can be flaky, as can EASunlock software even on std DB9 connection.

Might be good as I can just leave it in the car all the time........

Am hoping on doing the cable properly this weekend with the transistor and resistor on a small PCB inside the DB9 connector.

Will Post pics up when its done.
