$6.5k is way to much unless its highly modded or in pristine original condition

Even in showroom condition it is not a collectors item nor a significant classic, it is just an old car.

Aw come on.....Its a 2 door the only 4 wheel drive to be considered art, in fact the only vehicle ever to be on show at the Louvre.

Yep, good 2 doors are getting serious bucks in the UK now, only a matter of time before the penny drops here. They are a true classic car in a number of areas. Mine is insured as a 'veteran car' now.

I'll just pull the Chev out, ditch the C9 and the lpg and fit OME and retire in comfort in a few years time.

    cheers, DL

Thank you all for your input. It is in very good nick, (bar the obligatory oil leaks). My gut feeling was that $5000 was a bit closer to the mark. Like a couple of you have mentioned you can get much newer models at that price and for a couple of grand more a decent P38.

Will have to go with the head not the heart on this one.

May last year I was offered a pretty good 1988 auto for $3000. I offered $1500 and was politely refused. The lady later "sold" it to her daughter's then boyfriend for the $3000 which he never paid, just decamped with the car (and WA plates) not to be seen again. Hope she did not get too many camera fines. Told me to go forth and multiply when I suggested she would have been at least $1500 better off dealing with me.

They were only manual in 81 so thats no selling point.

Wasn't intending any offence to those who have 2-doors or who are enamoured of them, I had one myself and liked it, it was the car that got me away from jap stuff. But surely they can't be considered a collectible, other than the original model- if there are any of those out there that actually run.
