That was the assumption I had made. Shouldn't really be an issue, given I have a pod filter. That is the point of the filter isn't it?

This is how I have fitted the snorkel onto my classic rangie ( if you need other pics let me know) and also an example of a home made job which I bought to fit to my 2 door rangie but never got around to it - the snorkel is for sale, refer to the markets for the add.
Have added another pic of the engine bay to better show the fitting, the snorkel is a Rangie Spares one which I bought through MR Automotive at Redcliffe. You have to buy it in 2 parts, the snorkel itself and then the pipe/hose fittings depending on what air filter you have, I chose the alloy pipe with rubber bends and then the fibreglass moulding which is rivetted onto the side of the air filter housing.
