    Show us ya snorkel!

Hey guys, next step on my list of things to sort on my Rangie is a snorkel. I know they don't make one so I'm gonna go home made.
I'm mainly concerned with seeing what you've done for a filter box on the injected models. Happy to hear/see any suggestions and what you've done.
    Cheers, Waity.

Huh??? Yes they do. On the wrong puter atm for pics of proof Some one else will have one though.

How ever are easy to make. Depends what you want. One of those stupid bug traps or other.

Not a good pic however that is a LRA snorkel(Rangie Spares). As far as I know are very easy to get these days.

Not often good two doors meet in one place out here these days.

I stand(well, sit) corrected. Until now, no-one had been able to show me a snorkel that wasn't home made. Either way, I'd still like to see what air box options people are using. I own 2 Rangies, both only have a pod filter so I went looking last night to see what air filter came standard. From what I can see it was a steel cylander with about an 8" pipe out the front end. That won't work for me as it sits right where my battery is. Would love something smallish that could go where that massive windscreen washer bottle used to be.

I have an LRA and they come with an adaptor that fits on the side of the cylindrical airfilter. Mine is a 92 with 3.9 injection. And it is quite efficient with only a total of 11 inches of water restriction for the whole system before the MAF.

With the air horn cut off and the end plugged , the cylindrical filter easily fits with a second battery in its original position

If you have the original 14 CUX injection with a MAF, it is hard to fit any other arrangement in as the distance necessary for the MAF really determins what you use . I bought a Commodore filter on ebay but the thing is too deep.

I have thought about the later Disco panel filter but the problem with panel filters is the inlet comes in the bottom half, and you would have to cut the inner guard right through to fit one without excessive bends.

If you have aftermarket injection with no MAF it's easy as a Donaldson will fit in.

Thanks for your responses there guys.
I don't have a standard air intake. I am running the factory fuel injection system but the standard air intake had been removed and replaced with a pod filter before I bought it.
I'm thinking for the moment I'll just run a pipe from the AFM, out under the plenum cover and up the pillar, then put the pod on top of that. Have seen a few people do that and it doesn't look too bad.(I'd rather a decent factory look one but the money is lacking)
