    Bolt sizes for bull bar

Does anyone know what size bolts / nuts / washers are needed to fit a FACTORY alloy bullbar to a 94 Vogue SE? I have managed to pick up a very good one at the right price but it doesnt have the mounting bolts.

John probably M12 HT's but I don't know for sure. If they are bigger than M8 the only place in town that will possibly have anything is Hastings so buy them before you fly in.

With a TJM bar I am using 1/2 UNF x 5" long, grade 5 bolts.

    M12 x 120 long, class 8.8 would also fit.

1/2" is 0.7mm larger than M12 and SAE grade 5 is approximately same as metric class 8.8. You may need to file the holes a little to fit 1/2" bolts.

I don't know if your bar has mounting plates on both sides of the chassis rails like the TJM bar. If not, 5" might be a touch long and need some extra washers.

Bolts Steel & Tools Australia do quick and efficient mail orders. Can supply all common sizes and lots of rare, hard to find, obsolete, and "no longer available" stuff as well. Contact Fred Goddard, 07 3395 0311, fax 07 3395 0422, fred@fastenersales.com

BSTA are miles cheaper than any grossly overpriced Caterpillar dealer.

In the construction equipment business we used to have a saying that Caterpillar owners paid twice for their machine. Once in the purchase and twice in the spare parts.
