Hi.
Im 22 and a Range Rover Classic fanatic from New Zealand. Been a big fan since going for a ride in a family friends 1994(ish) Range Rover when I was 8 years old and promised myself that I would one day own a RR Classic. And one day a CSK when I find one!
Currently driving a 1990 Vogue 3.9L in Plymouth Blue with 173000KM on the clock. Will upload some photos when I get organised.
A few questions:
I have just purchased a set of Pacemaker extractors, what size exhaust and muffler combinations would people suggest? I just want a bit more of a V8 sound, not too loud tho and better performance. 2.25"? 2.5"
What oils and fluids are everyone using? Penrite HPR 30 (20W-60) for the engine?
Nulong Long Life Coolant OK for the rad? Is it worth getting this removed and professionally flushed as I'm not sure when it was last done?
I will be getting an auto trans flush at the end of the year, what ATF fluid is best for high speed + highway driving?
What oils for transfer case and diffs?
Is the aircon set up simple?
Much appreciated.
The standard diameter is 2.25.I have a Flowmaster main muffler and dogleg straight through resonator, and no drone. I do not have extractors as experts tell me there is no advantage over standard ex manifolds.I have just purchased a set of Pacemaker extractors, what size exhaust and muffler combinations would people suggest? IMHO 60 is much too thick especially in NZ. I recently changed to Valvoline 15-40 and my oil consumption reduced from using 15-50 Shell. depends on your valve guides of courseWhat oils and fluids are everyone using? Penrite HPR 30 (20W-60) for the engine?
I love it and have used for 10 years ( change every 2 years or so) with distilled water and my Rad still seems clean.Nulong Long Life Coolant OK for the rad? Is it worth getting this removed and professionally flushed as I'm not sure when it was last done?

Castrol Transmax Z in auto and transfer. Mine now at 188KK with no problems. Expensive but good and is an approved fluid by ZF.
See above transfer and diffs really any 90 . I usually use limited slip oil as it has a friction modifier. Castrol whatever. What oils for transfer case and diffs?
pretty much so. No blend motors or anything but there is a vacuum motor which switches the vents. As long as it has no leaks, AND the condenser fans work it should be good. Mine was refilled with 134A a couple of years ago and works perfectly with no change of hoses or tx valve. Is the aircon set up simple?
