That is funny, my 93-94 RRC did same and so does my 97 Disco.
Its fuse no 8 in mine.
The auto electrician mentioned the extra strain from lights in the bul bar and the tow bar wiring has something to do with it.
Do u have a tow bar and bull bar with extra lights by any chance?

It does not make sense but he told me that and to put a 15 amp fuse in instead of 10 amps and hey presto, all good.

    Try it.
I just blame everything electrical on Lucas the prince of darkness.

If it's the Lights that do the dash / heater controls, etc ... Try the facia panel for the heater controls ... pull off the control knobs & undo the screws & inspect all the feed wires to those globes

They all have single positive and negative female connectors, that hook to male pins that feed the small globes .. These male pins break off and then suddenly you have a live metal pin floating around the back there

I could never go along with using a higher amp fuse to solve a problem. This doesn't solve anything but merely masks it so the problem continues without notice ready to bite you again and maybe more seriously next time. I don't know how to solve this on the net but I'd be looking for another auto elec as a beginning.

My '94 LSE has both fog and bull bar driving lights along with tow bar wiring and it doesn't [nor should it] blow fuses.

    Well, I'ld start with ....
Undo the rear tail light lenses and pull out the the reverse globes ... stick it in reverse .... If it works, then it's a shorted light globe

After that ... Check the wire connections to the trailer plug /// Disconnect the wires to that plug and check how it hooks up to the wiring loom of the car

After that ... lift some carpet and chase the loom

If that don't work ... then find the reverse switch and check the wires to that ...

If that don't work .... You can use a little BFI attitude .... find the reverse switch wires and blank em off .. If that works ... then run a new set of wires to make the reverse lights work again ...

Or you could shell some $$$$$$$ and get a Auto sparky

I have no idea if it's Auto or Manual

For Mr Spook - You've identified your problem, just not found it. Look for a chafed wire in the reverse light loom. ( Drag out your multimeter). Could also be in the towbar loom if you have one. Take out the reverse light bulbs and the loom between the switch and the rear should show no reading on ohms.

    fuse fixed

i found the problem it was the trailer plug last time i took the trailer out, when i un pluged the lights the trailer plug one of the pins came out and stuck in my plug at the car so when i closed the plug it shorted out when it touched this pin, such a simple thing , thanks for the help luke.. 93 range rover 2inch lift 33inch big horns and a tone of fun.
