LSE stands for
London Stock Exchange
Was made to be a main competitor to the jag for the city boys and their cars where they had drivers and sat in the back reading their Times

I've got a white Vogue LSE 1994. All stock and all works. Still good for 155km/h down the freeway (270k on the clock so some kW have run away) and slogging up the worst tracks. Only mod is a whacking great Codan HF aerial off the back ARB bumper. The styling of the P38 is an abomination by comparison. The L322 continues the plastic theme. The LSE 94 was, in my humble, the last of the good boned RRs.
G;DAY ALL, I TOO HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR MORE HISTORY ON THE LSE CLASSIC. I PURCHASED ONE A FEW MONTHS AGO FROM CALOUNDRA ON THE SUNNY COAST. { $11,500}. IT HAS CHOCOLATE BROWN INTERIOR, PLYMOUTH BLUE EXTERIOR, 5 SPOKE MATCHING COLOUR WHEELS. A FEW THINGS ARE NOT WORKING( SUNROOF, CRUISE CONTROL) BUT I WILL GET AROUND NEXT YEAR TO REPAIRING IT. COULD SOMEBODY EXPLAIN WHY IT DOESNT HAVE A GLOVEBOX?...MY OLD 78 MODEL HAD ONE. I USE IT EVERY DAY FOR WORK , AND IT HAS BEEN GREAT SO FAR. I WILL NEVER SELL IT., VERY COMFORTABLE TO DRIVE. IT ALSO HAS COILS ON IT. IF ANYONE HAS INFO ON THIS MODEL , FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME. CHEERS MAGSY
Assuming it is not a "soft dash" model, there is no glovebox because the A/C system lives where a glovebox would usually be.
I think the soft dash LSE is the nicest "Classic" produced.
Mine? built July 1994, Aust approval October,1994 and it is MA 654996.
Must admit mine a few changes as I bought it crash damaged, without motor or gearbox.
Now?
tweaked TD5, 400+Nm, electronic 4HP24, ex Jaguar (the Disco 4HP22 didn't take kindly to about 40,000KM towing 2+tonnes). Approved alloy bullbar/winch, extra fuel tank, water tank, custom roof rack, rear wheel carrier, +++++++++
Too bloody much!
Although it's now a workhorse, for carrying/towing, still a nice car to drive and ride in.
I did notice that when I was modifying all the wiring looms for the 3 extra computers, there is a stronger construction of the body around/under dash area than earlier Classics ( I've had 1976, 1984, 1993- last 2 diesel conversions) and I suspect some these parts carried over to the P38.
I've stripped a couple 1994,95 Discos and there's no comparison in the strength or construction of the inner bodies.
Did you keep the EAS DonroverO?
pics please :D:D
EAS is still operational, of a sorts.
I kept the EAS and real ABS system when converted to TD5.
My EAS has had a fault, that doesn't show up on my Rovacom diagnostics, so it's been "broken"now for 2 years! I made a push-button box to control it- up/dowm/compressor on/ each wheel individually. Öne of these days" job as the memory driver's seat has to come out to replace the wiring loom.
The TD5? Been overseas for 6 months, returned a few days ago and reconnected the (flat) battery)- parallelled the winch battery and it started within 1 rev of motor!
Driving around a day ago and seal of pwr steering box failed (after 7 years!) so I've raised front up--EAS-- for easier working on it!
I just snapped a few pics- Just have to figure out how to load on?
Any help?
Once fixed, and when I wash off 6 months grime, I'll resnap and post pics.
Winch hides behind hinged number plate assy.
