The saddest day in Australian LSE history was the day I sold mine
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    LSE

gday lads, i have a 93 lee classic i bought last year. it has plymouth blue exterior with chocolate brown interior. it has 5 spoke colour coded wheels. it is my daily driver , and has been magic so far. there are a few things not working but i will get around to it after easter. they look fantastic and drive so well, i will never get rid of it. i will post some pics up of it shortly. it has coils on it which are slightly stiff, but hanles well on corners. would love to put air suspension back in one day and restore to original.

I'm in the middle of restoring an MA. It was owned by a guy in Tewantin who just abused it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am going to have to replace half the firewall / baulkhead, a lot of rust in the floor, and rear cross member - worth it though!

Does anyone know if the window frame (bonded windscreen) and firewall (except for a few holes) is the same as the older models? As i've got an 89 parts car.

The best part though, it's only got 169,000km.

Can we start making a list of VIN numbers?

    LSE History

I have 93 LSE, Westminster Grey with coloured 5 spoke wheels.

Mine all still works but has a 4.6 these days after a radiator hose burst going up a long hill. My biggest issue is finding shocks to control air suspension, I have billies (coil spring models) ex USA now but they are still way under damped for a loaded car and trailer. Air spring shockers were completely useless. Any suggestions...? before I give up and go to coils..

We love the extra leg room, but car is getting older and now having ignition issues, car cuts out irregularly and don't know why.

    thanks,
    Russell
    regards,
    Russell.

Odd that your 'Air-shocks' are under-damping... Bought a set of new shocks at around 150K for my '95 SE, and I find them too firm. - But I've got the updated American air-springs in mine. Normally set the EAS to 'Standard Height', as letting it do its thing and lower itself at freeway speed gives a harsher ride.

Comparing mine to an 88 on its original coils etc.... its , well, rather "firm", not THAT much better than my 89 cart-sprung Pajero.

Yes, I did make sure the Rover supplier was 110% sure that he sold me the correct ones for 'AIR'.

I've never towed a heavy trailer/fully loaded car, so I don't know how much the handling is affected with max. load-weight...But a Disco I towed our 1.5 tonne sweeper/trailer much better than the 88 Classic. Less argument as to which was steering...

One reason I stayed with air, is the ridiculous vehicle laws regarding alterations etc. I understand the some states in the East, are pretty savage about minor details... and the disease is slowly spreading Westwards...

Okay so here goes. I've tried to use the build dates, rather than the model years where I can. I think the model years start in June of the previous years, so MA started in June 94... please correct me if not.

I may also be a little confused about when the soft dash was bought in, I assumed June 94.

    1993hd (Westminster Grey, 4.6) - russa - Melbourne

Please tell me if any details are wrong, or any further details you have.

Russa, I would have a serious look at Koni heavy tracks. To my understanding coil shocks have less rebound valving. I had Bilstiens on my 93 when I bought it, and they were rubbish - no ride quality at all. I've got the Koni heavy tracks on now, and they're the ducks guts!!!! Just so well controlled, and you can wind the rebound up to suit whatever you want. I bought mine through Atlantic British, and delivered they were $400 cheaper than buying them from Pedders just down the road.
