Fitted new speedo cable and re-fitted dash.
Broke one if the light fittings on the speedo but managed to rescue it.
Next is the footwell rust...
My speedo and I suspect many others reads high by 5km/hr with the standard 7.50 16 tyres. 100 on the dial is a true 95km/h as per the GPS. This is something to consider when working out economy figures. Also if you're actually doing 95 and not a true 100 +, the highway fuel economy will be noticeably better due to wind resistance increasing exponetially with speed. I think this is part of the reason why a fairly wide range of fuel economy figures get quoted.
Mine is in the mid to high 11's when sitting on a true 100-110 km/h. I can get it into the 10's when cruising on lower speeds.
Hello all,
I recently became a proud owner of a new Perentie 6x6.
Today I found a pintle hitch in the bin, flogged out and rusted. So I manufactured new oversize greasable pins, cleaned up all the rust and shimmed the tongue to take up the slop. She's a smooth operator now. Just waiting for the rig to return from the transmission shop where it's getting a rebuild, front oil seal repair (as it was leaking) and a new 996 hi range transfer gear. Leaving the 4.7 diffs in so low range will still produce massive torque :)
G'Day TK and welcome.
Nice rebuild work.
Any details on the high range conversion?
Installed a 24v inverter and ran a lead to a power board in the back left hand tool box also a couple of other picks of the boxes I picked up and one of the four speakers I mounted in ammo boxes
It won't let me upload multiple pics from my phone :(
It also seems to be placing the pics upside down?
