I'd say it helps with noise, up to a point, there are lots of other noise sources which come in to play at various speeds. It wont make the vehicle quiet, but it helps. Hard to comment on the power, logic says it has to make a difference when unlocked. Potentially some fuel economy benefits as well, I suppose.
I had one from a Patrol laying around but not sure if I'd spend the money otherwise.

Hey Dan, is that the original canvas canopy? If so, did you paint it black or dye it somehow?

    Cheers,

    Looks nice, Phil.
Is it a GS canopy rolled down at the front and made in plain canvas?
    Cheers, BDave.

    Thanks Dave.
No, it is a modified FFR design with canvas behind the cab including a clear window.
It has zips on all four corners and can be rolled up similar to a standard design.
Andrew at Robco put it together for me.
    Very happy.

Its similar to what Land Rover , Exmoor, Alltrim, etc would sell a standard 110 pick canvas if purchased new.

Looks good and suits the 110 truck cab look, I don't think they ever sold the 110 as a truck cab here did they?
