    Re: side step

Revelation! I have been trying to work out how to modify my side step to make it clear the exhaust.... so glad to see pictures of yours.... because it is different from the one I have!! There must be a couple of different ones manufactured... grateful for a post or PM advising where you found it.
She with the short legs thanks you profusely.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to have someone add power steering to a Perentie 110? Thanks.

There is a kit from KLR for $1750

Rebuilt steering box and pump diy install, Not sure what the labour cost would be for a real mechanic to install. After my original box got sloppy i didnt have the time or patience to source all the parts required

It is real nice to drive now

Here's more about thee neww Perenteee... So far I've pulled out all the radio gear, ripped out the rear seats and hosed the back out, stripped the aerial mounts, 3 x batteries given away to mates, 24v generator came out real easy and donated to a buddy on a farm who is going to create a hydro electric power station, motor bay was degreased, cockpit and undercarraige were pressure cleaned, canvas was removed, washed, properly re-aligned and canvas waxed; Bodywork was rubbed with lanolin while the inner doors and cockpit floor were injected with fish oil.

Today I gave the undercarraige an anti-rust cocktail of sump oil, penetrol and fish oil so that the truck is ready for regular beach launching of the boat. The whole underside and every available opening got absolutely blasted till I was dripping like a basted chook. Then I drilled 2 holes in the firewall and pumped it with 100% fish oil.

Next on the list is an oil and filter change - never done it before on diesel so I'm hoping the Donaldon P554022 and PP550057 are the right oil and fuel; filters for the 4BD1 coz thats what I bought.

    Have fun!!!

Well i didn't have much luck on Sunday... electrics have been playing up since my trip to Fraser a few weeks ago where i kept losing dash power and wipers. Ended up finding out a light brush of my fingers over the fuses brought everything back for a while. Except my radio which is no longer doing much at all. Had a play with the fuses on the weekend, replaced them all and gave the holder a clean with wire brush and contact cleaner. dash power is back and maybe a bit more power i wasn't expecting as had a cabin full of smoke that night. Couldn't find any burnt wires other than a small 100mm lose section which i believe may have just been thrown in and touched a fraying connector. Wiring is all a mess and previous owner (i bought private) didn't make it any better. Now thinking a new narva blade fuse upgrade may be in order.

Also had a flat and my undercar wheel carrier (what's it called?) broke while winching the spare back up. Pin that holds in the extension bar had snapped... replaced that though still not working so must be something else inside i'm missing. Seems to be the 4 bolts either side to remove entire carrier for a closer look.

Oh and discovered previous idiot had the trailer plug cut as well... bit of wire still sticking out the back luckily. Now to find some 12 core cable to reattach it. Funny thing is that he didn't replace it with another trailer plug so what the hell was the point of cutting it!

Question... my speedo is running about 10% over speed eg: 110km is really 100km. Fairly high margin so any idea if an adjustment to alter or need a new cable etc?
