So it went up $300? Or was it 1700 with new box? How has your exchange rate been lately?

HA! I just realized that the post with that price is from 3 years ago. That would explain the price differences to a degree.

Last couple of months has seen the AU$ go down against the pound, which means more expense for us

I just rang Brisbane Izuzu and that part number does not work for them.
Any other numbers or sources for the part?

Also, just to confirm, it's the Discovery 1 steering box that we can use?

Actually it's now $2.2K for the kit with a new steering box and pump.

KLR are trying to negotiate better prices and will adjust price if that happens.

Earlier last year you could buy new pumps for the 4BD1 off eBay in the US for about $US250. I bookmarked the ad and when I went to purchase one recently from the same vendor it was $US1,500 before shipping. You can guess I didn't buy it and had KLR fit one of their kits.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

You should be able to get a pump from a truck wreckers. From memory 4BD1, 4BE2 and maybe the 6BD1 will all work but there are differences in inlet/outlet orientation

    Yes, disco 1, 4-bolt box.

That's the number I was using Badco. When I rang Isuzu, that number didn't work in their system .

<edit> guy just called me back, they found that number in the "part no longer available" list.

When it went to $1.5K I deleted it from my watch list. I seem to remember it cam from somewhere like Pittsburgh not Buffalo.
