Narrow tyres suit Landies well, you are probably chasing height rather than width. In which case 255/85R16s will fit on 130 rims or various 7" aftermarket rims without problem-you can also get zero offset rims aftermarket. No guards or flare mods needed.

I have 255/85R16s on 7" aftermarket rims on a civvy 110, I thought the rims were -25mm offset but more likely zero offset, I need to remeasure. The tyres scrub on the rear flares slightly at full articulation. I haven't changed the bump stops so at full compression it is the same as if it wasn't lifted. So you can expect exactly the same light scrubbing on the flares when crossed up if you go the same tyres/rims. I suspect 130 rims are about the perfect middle ground between turning circle and tucking tyres into the guards.

Despite having a different spare wheel location and being painted in camouflage, your 110 is generally the same as any other 110 from the early/mid 80s to the current generation Defenders. That means you can search in the Defender section or the Isuzu Landy section, as most questions you ask will have been answered before.

If it works on a civvy 110, chances are it'll work on yours.

I have run 255/85-16s with no lift (33")

I am now running 285/75-16 (33").

This is on a civilian 110. The front 285s rubbed on the exhaust before it was moved.
