    Lightbulb gearbox oil

I've just purchased a perentie with the Lt95 box- I'm assuming the army used standard diesel engine oil/same as for isuzu? In my old county i was recommended to use Castrol VMX-80 - should i change the oil to VMX-80?

Engine oil and Castrol VMX 80 will both work.
The VMX 80 seems to let the gear changes be a bit smoother.

In my perentie manual it specifies OMD115 for gearbox and Castrol FMX for transfer case which is apparently a semi-synthetic engine oil - seems strange they would specify 2 different oils if the oil migrates between gearbox and transfer case? I assume it would be best to use just one type of oil like RX super or VMX80.
