No problem at all fitting either seats or rear belts for side ways facing passengers. ( Queensland that is )
We have completed two recently, one Army one civilian.
A little more difficult for rear facing seats ie RFSV, but possible if you follow the regs correctly.
Landybitz - I'm hoping to throw a pair of these with belts facing each other in the back of my hardtop Puma directly behind the two front seats.
Is that something you think could be achieved in QLD?
Probably, but not as easily as you might imagine, mainly because of the way they would have to be attached. You'd have to build a decent size frame for them to bolt to.Quote:

I have fitted three lap seat belts on the passenger side rear bench seat. I was told by the guy that gave me the pink slip for the last rego that after the belts were fitted I would need to come back and have an RMS (RTA) "adjustment of records" form completed and processed. He said that the actual capacity is 11 persons, 8 in the back and 3 in the front (small seat over the centre rifle rack). If registered for 11, you need a bus licence, so I have stuck with just the three in the back and three up front. It helps if the person in the middle in the front is small !!. I have not carried anyone in the extra seats yet as I have been too busy fixing other things to get back for the "adjustment of records" check.
Unless the NSW rules have changed in the past 12 months, this is not correct. You can drive up to a 12 seater with a normal car license. Up to last year I owned a Hiace Commuter that was converted down from 14 to 12 seats for this reason. Certified and all.Quote:
