Dervish - It looks like the Donaldson P550588 that's on your list is the Water/Fuel Separation Filter that Lucas requested info on.

I'd like to throw a Donaldson P550057 into your list because it could be the correct single spin on fuel filter. (At least I hope so coz that's what I put in my FFR about 10 days ago) I was quoted on that part number because it's matched to 3.9l Isuzu Elfs and NPR's that had the 4BD1 with the single spin-on. I dunno... Just hoping it's right.

Thank you, I'll amend the list I can vouch for the Fleetguard P/Ns as I've used all of those on my Perentie, the Donaldson numbers were collected from various posts here on AULRO and as yet unverified (by me). Looks like I wasn't paying enough attention when searching for the fuel filter number.

    Dervish,
I run the Fleetguard LF3642 as the single spin-on engine oil filter and a FLeetguard FF5114 fuel filter. The FF5114 matched the application listing and fits the housing fine, though it is slightly smaller in diameter than the original Isuzu unit.
    Cheers, Dave

Good advice-when i drained/cleaned sedimenter my tank was obviously quite full ( dodgy gauge) and just kept coming so had to put a drum underneath to catch the diesel until level dropped enough to stop draining. BTW- despite being a rather messy operation it's definitely worth doing as mine had quite a lot of gunk in it -also don't forget the small mesh one under lift pump-mine was choke full of stuff too.

There not a lot in there if regularly cleaned. Metal/rust appears to react and pit the alloy body inside. Also there are 3 seals, under the bolt head holding it together, a large ring under the top of the unit and in between the middle and bottom section. It's likely all will be reusable. The sedimenter is a worthwhile bit of kit. Effective but simple.

Wait until your fuel tank is 1/4 full before cleaning. If too full the fuel level will be higher than the sedimenter.

    Replacing the Sedimenter 4bd1

Newbie USA based perentie owner here. Loving the truck - told the mrs. it would be a chick magnet and to watch out, but seems it attracts more middle aged guys than those of the female version. Oh well....

I mistakenly ordered a Donaldson P550588 for the spin on fuely up front. It APPEARS to match the current factory sedimenter....anyone using one of these instead?

Y'all are awesome with all of the info. Thank you!filter.jpg
