    Compliance plate

I bought my Perentie in Darwin with no compliance plate.
Flew over from Nhulunbuy, gave it the once over, filled it with diesel and drove it back (1000ks - 700 on dirt through Arnhemland) Love it!
Got some grief for my Green slip and more grief from the compliance inspector.
I did have a letter of compiliance from JRA but the issue is still not fully resolved.
Made some enquiries with Graysonline and a had a very helpful call from COlin in Sydney.
He explained that some vehicles where special to some people/units and the plate was souvenired, much like a dog tag!

Not sure about the rules in NT but I have an S3 fully registered in NSW without a compliance plate due to a replaced fire wall. All they needed was the chassis number for rego
    Not sure if that helps!
    Enjoy it

Compliance plates were only introduced during S3 production, so this may have helped, especially as plating of vehicles in the early days was a bit haphazard. And it had probably been previously registered. None of the above applies to Perneties, so I am not sure that experience with an S3 helps!

You could get Compliance Plates re-manufactured, just need one to scan. Probably not legit but who would know ?

I know a company that would do it but, as always, it's cost vs quantity.

Mind you, if it saves the registration hassle how much is it worth ?

    Agree with your points John.
My S3 is 1978 and therefore after the 1974 introduction of plates.
However, my point is that vehicles can be registered under some circumstances without a compliance plate
