Wow..does that only work on camo paint work or matt paint jobs too?:confused:
Here is an example, the door has been done. Not the difference between the edges around the door.

Yes. The finish is matte due to a surface that is "rough" on a microscopic scale. That roughness will hold a suitable liquid. Lanolin will not evaporate easily and so remains there longer.
Similar to a used car yard trick I was introduced to about fifty years ago - washing a car in kerosine will leave it shiny, at least long enough for the sucker to drive away.
