The 6x6 is even better...

The LT95 box is fine once you get used to it - it is actually a small truck gearbox, so very strong.

I think a turbo on the 4x4 would make it a great vehicle. Not sure about that one being discounted - you'd be better off getting from the auctions and save yourself a few more dollars.

I drove one yesterday too. And today awesome vehicle. After 800km I was used to it.

So you got yourself a "P" rentie from the Sydney Auction ? which one ?

Have Cousins just got a load in? if so they are ex-Sydney (Minto) auction which ended last Wednesday, I have a list of the vehicles,and if the one you drove had either 93,000 or 97,000 and mis-matched front seats and was a 3/1991 vehicle I can give you it's ARN as I was watching that auction for somebody.

I suspect it's the FFR they've had for ages and they want to shift it. Pretty sure it's one I checked out months ago, (though I didn't drive it) it had a flat battery then as well. I got mildly excited when the heading on the link said wagon.

I would't turbo the Isuzu for simplicity, less to go wrong..

Yeah I would never buy a car from a car yard..way too expensive

It did't have a drop down tail gate, only had a half fixed tail gate..could be pain for touring

Low range seemed good..certainly lower than the zook..

What's the low range ratio for the Perentie's?

The 6x6's have a turbo as standard, and it is very simple. No intercoolers or anything, just straight out of the turbo, across the rocker cover and into the inlet manifold. The 4BD1 engine is plenty strong enough for the turbo without modifications or worrying about reliability.

The 4BD1 Izuzu came originally from the 4 to 8 ton truck range, so is pretty well understressed,and unless one drives it without oil or water unbreakable, a lot of testing went into them to make them "grunt proof"
