    VASS Certificate required

    Hi Guys,

Went to register the Perente today and it seems the chassis number and the VIN don't match, Seem to have changed somewhere along the lines in the army. Vicroads require me to get a VASS certificate.
Has anyone else had to fork out more money than necessary for this?

Anyone know someone that will be good in Melb?

    Cheers

The chassis number is the VIN. Did you get it from Grays? If so, go back to Grays and get a corrected receipt.

If you did buy it from the auctions you can usually still see the image of the chassis number, if it doesn't correspond with the paperwork, AFM are obliged to amend it for you.

you need the lot and auction number.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

So this is 48-023? I think we talked about this vehicle having the "wrong photo" of the chassis number, but are you telling us that the nomenclature plate and the Grays Receipt describes it as SALLDHAZ1BF569655, but the actual chassis is the one in the picture SALLDHAZ1BF571077? Is there any mention in the GM120 ("service record book") of repairs/rebuild that involved a chassis change? What chassis number is recorded in the book?

569655 was the original number, and is in sequence with the other ARNs around it. 571077 was likely to have originally been fitted to 48-438, but this vehicle has not yet been through Gray's Auctions. I wonder if it has been written off in service and reduced to spares?

Sooo, The Compliance plate has the Number ending in 655 on it and the chassis has 077 on it. The photo was right.
The GM120 ( service record book) shows nothing in terms of a chassis change. (Went through it with a fine tooth comb so to speak). It has had rebuilds but nothing mentioned about the chassis number change. Obviously it has been changed at sometime by the army and either was covered in a "major rebuild" but not specifically noted down. strange.....

The Greys receipt has the Complicance plate "VIN" ending in 655.

    just another perente hurdle!

    Just an update guys,

Got the VASS on Monday which the engineer placed a modified vehicle plate on the 110 and this was satisfactory for Vicroads and Reg. Got the plates today and is now patrolling from today

Still $440 for the Vass to confirm the chassis to the body is okay was a bit rich....
Thanks for all the advice here guys!

    Cheers
