My options as i see it are,
COA 1, replace broken Half shaft with maybe a Hi=tough approx $265
plus gaskets oil etc.
COA 2, Replace both half shafts with Hi-tough approx $540 + gaskets etc
COA 3, put a 10 or 24 spline locker and a set of half shafts. I'm guessing the consensus will be go the fine spline.
ARB are doing a special on lockers at $995 and im told the 24 spline is a locker part number RD 128. How can i confirm this is the right one before ordering it, (if that's the route im going).
Can anyone see any pit falls that i am leaving open for myself down the track?
I am not mechanically inept ;however, ive never done this before but with u tube and my trusty manuals i should be ok??? maybe not is it amazingly difficult? are there big things to watch for.
I would love to take it somewhere but that at the moment is not a financial option and to be honest im enjoying the learning curve and the expansion of my understanding. no more calling Bluebell.
Best place to buy half shafts in nth Brissy?
Any thoughts, experience or links would be great.
