    HI,

I just swapped mine onto Shannons, they only do full comprehensive (which includes third party). they also know what a Perentie is and offer full salvage rights.

For me only slightly more than RACV third Party Fire and theft insurance.

    regards

I think oowa was talking about compulsory third party, the type that comes with Victorian registration. In NSW they have to buy CTP separately.

I spoke to Shanons today and they quoted me $400 for $12K full comprehensive cover. Tried the local RAA and it was all too hard for them.

Try a quote with Lumley insurance for club permit vehicles if you have your Perentie on club permit in Victoria. I had Shannon's for 20 years but flicked them when they started getting greedy and found all the same offerings from from Lumley at much better rates.

My Shanons quote was based on driving 2 or 3 days a week and on normal rego (no club permit or historic rego).

Yeah got that, used to live in NSW, but - couple of points here

Shannons only do full comprehensive which is inclusive of third party

Vicroads do TAC charges with your rego which is effectively third party personal insurance but not third party porperty https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/regi...istration-fees - you need to take third party property out with an insurance company

At least that's my understanding and what is covered by full comprehensive insurance or Third party fire/theft or legal liability insurance. Happy to be corrected but dosen't change the insurance status os my vehicles.

    Thanks guys,
I took out a CTP comprehensive for rego ( couldn't get out of that one.

To Comprehensive insure it, they want $536 to insure for $15k, As it only gets used once a month, and stored in garage, think that money better spent at Dan Murphy's.

Sorry I am confused - as I understand it, CTP insurance (3rd Party Personal) is complusory and is whats called a Green Slip and is part of the overall rego payment - you produce your Green Slip and then get your rego.

Comprehensive insurance is something different and basically covers car damage and other property damage (with a personal component as well) and is not compulsory.

You do not get your Green Slip as part of your Comprehensive Car insurance.

Not sure what the OP was/is trying to buy.
