Almost started a new thread, then remembered I had this electrical one going.
So I was poking around the heater box in the engine bay and found a rusted, very dodgily sealed box that looked like a voltage regulator just sitting loose in there :eek:
Can anyone confirm that this is a/the voltage regulator, and if so, give me a part number so I can get a new one?

Just had a quick look at mine. It appears to be attached to the fan, possibly a capacitor for the motor? Can you see where the wires go?
More likely to be a resistor block for the different fan speeds. They get hot at low fan speeds so fan cooling makes sense.

I can see that there is black cable that runs from alternator to the starter motor that branches off to it, then there is some short cable that I think goes to the heater box.
