Ok Now luck in the UK Famous Four even went to VDO, in reply was told to go to Jaguar land rover Aust.
So I see my only Option as I am not paying $400 for a sender unit. is to get a new sender and gauge from 90" under seat Tank correct me if wrong but they are same?? and whould there be any forseable Problems with doing this.

    Thats what i thought.
The problem is that the position of the sender unit on the Perentie requires that the fuel pipe turns at 90deg as soon as it comes out of the tank otherwise the fuel pipe clashes with the seatbox cover under the seat.
LR do not make a sender unit other than the $400 (plus postage)Perentie unit that will fit without modification of the seat box and the sender unit.
I modified a Defender unit (that cost $60) and the seat box.
Another way would be to take the fuel return back into the tank at another location (the blanking plate at the front of the tank would work) and then using the same unit without modifications.
    Hope this helps.

This looks like a series 3 sender. Check that it is suitable for diesel.
It may work but the float is the wrong side. That can be changed over but that may mean that the guage reads backwards. Again this can be fixed.
    It is worth a go.
Please let me know how you go.

According to the training pam with regard to vehicle systems, sub-systems and components

Success well after minor float arm modification not as accurate as I would like but hey what gauge is showing just in the red with about 4" in the tank and low fuel warning works.
