Sadly my bank account won't extend to getting genuine rims. The Dynamics seem to look ok, so i think that they will do.

Do the Defenders have different hubs to a 110? just wondering how that will work with a +33 offset and 235 wide tyres I would have thought that would result in either scrubbing or a increased turning circle.

Poking around the internet leaves me to believe that the stock Perentie rim is +33.
I'm trying to do the math; the new rim is 1" wider, but 8mm less inset. the 235 is 40mm wider than the 7.5, so in all it will end up about 25mm closer to the inside of the wheel arch. I think there is enough clearance in there that at full lock it won't scrub on things.

Just found an old thread that seems to support that theory.
I was implying second hand rims, you Aussies have a good second parts market with land rovers. I struggle here in nz. Are you on the aulro Facebook page? Maybe put up a wanted ad?

I'm not a series person, so can't speak for them, but the early 80's 110s through to the latest defender have the same stud pattern.

Remember, its been repeated a few times by others, your Perentie is essentially a County. Those tires will fit. You are basically putting factory size tires on factory sized rims.

Also I calcuted a 9.25mm difference, instead of your 25mm. There must be a offset calculator somewhere haha.

I'm so tired, this reply took me so long to write haha.

What size are those BFG's? I have a set of Wolf wheels and am about to purchase some new tyres. I have done a bit of research but there is a lot of different opinions on what size tyres can be run on these rims. Are you happy with the BFG's? love to hear any feedback. By the way I think your setup looks damm fine!

    Regards Warrick.

Hey Warrick, the BFGs are 255/85. So far the tires are great, no complaints. On road I can't hear them over the Isuzu.

I took the truck out to a 4wd park the weekend after I got them and never noticed any rubbing on the spring perches or anything.

Here is the obligatory flex shot, they tuck in nicely.

Also the tall and skinny look goes well with the Land Rover.

As I am very poor at the moment, new rims are not an option.
I'll have to go with pretty much the cheapest option I can find.

I have a question regarding tyre sizes.
so on the current tyres they say 7.5 r16 lt which I think is the old way of doing tyre sizes. When searching, what would be the equivalent in the new writing?
Hankook Dynapro ATs were good value for money last time I priced them. I'll probably put some on my camper trailer fairly soon, as they should do the job OK.

Thanks for the information BadCo. I spoke to my tyre dealer yesterday and he told me that the BFG KM2's are awesome tyres but the 255/85/16's may be hard to get outside of city areas as they are an uncommon size. Has anyone had problems sourcing these tyres in remote areas? i am planning a few trips through the Pilbra in the next couple of months and while I am taking 3 spares I still am not wanting to be stuck in a town like Carnarvon waiting for tyres to be sent from Perth. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Regards Warrick.

Gday Warrick, Whats wrong with Carnarvon?
Yes the 255s are rare and you probably wont find them in many places.
If they are in stock in Perth they can be freighted nearly overnight.
I have 4 i can freight if you get stranded.

No offence to Carnarvonites intended Paul. I could of said Broome or Halls Creek. Just wanted to know how easy it is to find 255/85/16's before I invest my hard earned as well as my faith in the supply of replacement tyres. I see that you are from Wyalkatchem. Funny name, great place!
Thanks for the offer of 4 replacement tyres though. Are you in the tyre business?
    Regards Warrick.

You won't be happy if rumours are true though, apparently BFG are discontinuing the 255/85/16 size as well as a couple of close sizes in the 15" rim department.

    Apparently. Unconfirmed speculation, currently.
