Congratulations on your new acquisition! Do you know the ARN?
I recommend you drive it for a month of two before making any big changes (power steering, disc rear, turbo etc). You may find it is easy to live with as is, as I have.

						HI All,
I'm still fairly new to the forum and as of this weekend, I'm the proud owner of a 1987 Perentie 4x4.
Just fitted an ignition key and immobiliser (so I can get it registered) but would be interested in anyones thoughts on recommended mods.
I'm currently looking at a power steering kit from KLR (most threads seem to say this a well worth it).
My brakes are a bit soft. will be looking at the discs/pads later this week when I get time but would be interested to know if anyone has done the rear drum to disc conversion and if it's worth it?
Only other jobs planned are to check/replace fluids & filters.
Any other recommendations?
Many thanks!!
Shaun

haven't tried to do any research yet but if you have any pointers then this would be great.

						Hi Shaun,
My 2c, I have a perentie with power steering, turbo and rear disc conversion. Power steering is an amazing difference and would do that first - then the turbo makes it much more driveable and quieter. The disc conversion is also good especially in terms of pedal feel. Are you in Sydney? You can swing by and give it drive if you'd like.

						Thanks Dingsy!
I'm in Adelaide otherwise I would of loved to take you up on the offer.
Personally I would go PAS, Tires, Rear Disk then Turbo. There is a rear disk conversion thread in here somewhere. Or at least check the dates on the tires.
As well as mods don't forget to do all the general service stuff. At least then you will have a point to work from for routine maintenance.
There is a lot of information in the Coil Sprung section, so make sure you read through it thoroughly.
