I may be wrong, but if the bullbar was stronger, then the force of the hit would have been moved to the next weakest point possibly causing more damage?

My uncle hit a roo with the old style bar and it snapped as well, they really are quite weak.

Considering what they are bolted too, the next weakest thing in the chain is the chassis.

Exactly, if you hit something hard enough like walahbro did and you had a stronger bar then wouldn't you run the risk of doing chassis damage?

Not trying to argue just throwing ideas around

Valid point...would rather fix a bit of bent pipe, than any other part of the vehicle. And I think I read somewhere that the army actually classify them as a 'brush bar', not a 'bull bar'.....hence not designed to take big impacts anyway.

I hope it isn't NER/ Not Economical to Repair.

Haha - I wanted some headrests for the ISRI seats in the perentie. Was informed they would cost something like $700 a piece - no thanks - shudder to think what a bar would cost $10k? They probably only have 1 lol.
