Perentie surge tank for radiator .

Was wondering should this tank be filled to the top or have a level as i was thinking about adding a overflow tank with a coolant level sender like the Toyota hiace vans, as it works really good. Was looking at connecting it to the overflow overflow hose from the radiator surge tank it my draw water in an a emergency let me know if the water level is low.

i assume you have the same black painted copper tank the county's have.

this is not a surge tank as in modern cars. it is just an over flow tank.

remember top up coolant at the brass nut on top of the water pump or radiator hose.

if you are topping up cold, then an inch or two or 1/2 full over flow tank

The metal expansion tank should be approximately at the halfway full point (where the join in the tank is) when cold.

If it was full there would be nowhere far any expansion to go .
