Stuffed head lights shouldn't keep you held up for more than 5 mins...

As Mick said, go to an auto parts store and grab a set of H4 7" inserts (Hella is much better than original) and throw them in... literally a 5 minute job.

I replaced mine with the narva closed back (not sealed) units - seems to be working well. I also did the traxide kit which I recommend but you could leave this for later.

If you've got to replace them anyway (and if youve got the spare cash lying around) why not bite the bullet and get something like the trucklites. I have them on my Perentie and can highly recommend them. I believe British Off Road currently have them for $465 each, Still might be worth shopping around though.

ouch! sadly I don't have a spare grand. New ones from the UK cost less than $200 delivered for the pair. I'll pick up a set of +130% globes and hopefully that will do the trick.

Mr LR. The mounting cones literally split/disintegrated from the rust so there is nothing to mount the globes in.

Dingsy. That Traxride kit is on the wishlist (along with the temp monitor they do). Just have to save up the cash!

Call a local supplier such as Maxi Parts. I'm sure they will be cheaper.

Yep, a pair of Hella or Cibi? 7" headlights would be better and less $, and if you want to be rally cheap, standard 7" sealed beams are only around $20-30 each.

Dont put those 130% globes in without the Traxide wiring kit.
WHY???? The factory wiring puts the full voltage thru the switching, you will end up melting the switches.
The Traxide kit uses the original wiring only as a trigger for the relays which draw your power direct from the alternator to the globes.Your lights will be much brighter and you wont destroy the rest of the factory wiring.

Surprised you went with this kit. Thought you were a sparky?

Be very surprised if any decent sparky couldn't source off the shelf replacements and fit them in a couple of hours, probably with upgraded wiring.
