Any sort of silicone should do it Chris, the main thing would be to get it all clean of any grease oil etc before trying to glue it.
the foam insulation that normally sits under the plastic housing that goes over the gearbox has come loose on my truck.
could I use rtv sealant to stick it back on? or it there something like this would be better?

yep just cleaned all the mud off. Have to go and buy some degreaser. I plan on putting a double layer of Dynamat on first, then glue the old rubber to that. Just wanted to make sure I get something that will stick, without eating the rubber/foam (I've made that mistake before :/)
Just pulled the wiper motor off and found a nice patch of rust under that. More repairs to do until i can put this thing back together. I hope I took enough photos to remind me what to do!
