Isri seat bases are available as a spare part, (but you may need to take out a second mortgage. )

The rails on the Stratos have been engineered and approved. If you use anything else (other than Defender/County) that doesn't bolt directly to the seat box they will need to be engineer certified.

well now I'm confused. Both of mine are on rails (you can slide them back and forth) but only the passenger side has a removable seat cushion.

poked the camera in and took a couple of photos, didn't take the covers off though as that is a pain.

    differences that I can see:
    1. Drivers seat cushion is fixed,
    - passengers is removable.
    2. Drivers seat has a metal lever on the left side at the back to tilt the seat
    - Passengers is a yellow plastic latch thing on the right side at the back
    3. Driver seat has a single lever on the front left that you pull to slide the seat back and forth
    - Passenger has a bar type arrangement

The Isri seats have the sliders that bolt to the seat box.

The Stratos have a folded metal bracket onto which the sliders bolt and the rails/brackets then bolt onto the seat box. These are somewhat similar in design to the Mud Stuff seat rails.

If you have one seat cushion that removes, you most likely have Isri seats. You may also find that the drivers seat cushion will remove too but the release is stuck. (Although there are Isri seats that don't have the removable cushion, e.g. the rear seats in the RFSV and LRPV and 6x6 troop carriers.)

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Put a couple of photos up, but based on what you've said there, I'd say I have Isri's.
Are there different release mechanisms? The passenger one is in the centre and easy to find.
I've taken the whole drivers seat out (needed to clean mud off the top of the tank) and the seat seems fixed to the frame.

Hi, the passenger is an ISRI and the drivers an original. ISRI has centre release button to pop the base up, the original has two pins that you need to remove an "R" clip then pull it up

    cheers

    Thanks!
So when you say it's original, you mean it's neither an Isri or Stratos but an actual Land rover seat?

Working on the basis that it is a land rover seat, does anyone have a part number?

The closest I could find is MWC4535. It looks like it could be right. It has a little release button on the side for removing the seat base which mine does not have, which makes me unsure.

    Hi Chris

The problem I have with your images is the seat covers which hide the original form. The driver's seat, apparently with the thigh support and the little lever for the seat slides/runner could be a Stratos, but without the folded bracket underneath. I think that when Defence and Stratos designed the mounting they may have used original Land Rover parts for the slides.

Does the driver's seat have a large wheel on the hinge mechanism to change the rake of the seat back, but doesn't have a quick release mechanism? (On a Stratos drivers side seat the adjusting wheel in on the LHS of the seat.)

I can't take an image of my Stratos seats till Friday, when I go out to where 50-422 is stored.

    Thanks Diana,
I took some more photos and sent them to Stratos (looking at the PUB I thought it might be a Stratos) but they agree with LandRoverScott that the drivers seat is a Land Rover seat(and frame)

The passenger is definitely an ISRI, found that stamped on it this morning.

That might be a blessing as I imagine a Land rover seat base will be easier to find than a Stratos one.
    Probably the same price though

I think that you have two Isri seats, the drivers side is the original early type with the metal lever to release/adjust the rake of the squab and the passengers side is the later Isri design with the yellow lever/knob that adjusts the rake.

The slide/runner on the driver's seat is the same as used on the Stratos but I believe that this is a Land Rover part.

The cushion bases for both types of Irsi are available through the Land Rover parts chain, Isri will send you to Land Rover for these (I've contacted them before).

    Thanks Diana.
I'll have to follow up on that later.
Just discovered that I need to drop $1500 on new suspension and springs.
