Check tightness of big bolts on perenties?

Hi all, I have had the perentie for a few months now and am slowly getting it sorted out..
Apart from other things noticed a developing knock in the front somewhere with takeoff and slowing down. Not expecting to find the source easy to find it actually wasn't that difficult, the panhard rod end on the chassis side clicked when i gave it a yank. Checked the tension and it was perhaps only around 50 or 60Nm I guess, anyway torqued it up and also the axle bolt as this was not tight enough as well. When I get the time I'll check the other big bolts around the place.

I suppose the only reason for mentioning this is perhaps it is a good idea for new owners to check the tension of important bolts, as well as the usual fluids and filters. I also had a loose nut on one of the gearbox mounts.

Ditto. I tightened them up to spec and they loosened again.

Next time I'll use a bit of thread lock.

Yes, I found loose bolts front universal, new nyloc nuts and loctite, do not have a suitable torque wrench so did them up as tight as I could manage..Might look into the wrench problem..

In my experience, drive flange bolts that persistently loosen are often telling you there is free play in the wheel bearings.

Having driven a Perentie for a while I recommend just use loctite on everything. Especially if using them offroad.

Yup. Essential of the 4BD1 toolkit is several containers of 243. pity it's fairly expensive, but it is still cheaper than having random suspension/drive parts coming off.

I lost my winch PTO uni a while back. Same issue I suppose but I didn't notice it was loose until after it went missing. I will be putting 243 on all uni bolts and major suspension bolts from now on too!
