    Stereo aerial

I've broken the standard sterio aerial and was woundering if there was a base and screw on aerial like a CB set ujp that I could replace it with.

Would it perform any better in the country?

I've just replaced mine with an aerial from MobileOne Communications, a small Sydney based company. Untitled Document I'm using their M5W which is an AM/FM antenna, its long at 1200mm but performance is beyond belief. FM stations easily picked up over 100-150km away, and AM good for I'd say 200-250km through the day and well over 1000km at night. From Ceduna SA, I could listen to ABC Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle and Brisbane in the early hours.

I just bought a standard base and bullbar mount and some cable (make sure you get 75ohm cable, NOT the standard 50ohm UHF stuff - otherwise you won't get better reception, particularly on AM).

There are a few brands that do them, I chose MobileOne because of their service - they talked me through getting the best possible earthing and setup over the phone.

I’ve gone for the Mobile one as it’s Australian and very helpful

The M5W was their recommendation its on its way to me as we speak.

When I lived in Ceduna in 1969-1970, that's the only time one could receive anything. There was no local station.

I had a very long wire aerial on my radio in the house.

Don't know how many times I've read about people receiving stuff from overseas quicker than state to state in OZ.

I ordered my mobile one aerial and it was on my door step the "next day"
Good service, good product and advise.

I'll be recomending and going their again.
