    Good car radio recomendation

OK I’m looking to replace my car stereo.

    My requirements are
AM/FM radio good reception though realise this is a function of the aerial (just purchased a Mobile One; one)
    CD player.
    DIN 1 (normal size)

Able to play my Apple Nano (Apple products) preferably by plug-in front and back.
Must be able to play all the music formats itune, wave? MP3 & 4(?)

Nice to have Bluetooth and separate mike as the radio is a centre roof console mounted job so the kids can’t get to it.

Don’t need amplifiers & 10 speakers, navigation or 7ft screen.

    I’ve looked at the Clarion CZ509A cost $A 259.

Any recommendations on either the radio and or alternative or better price.

I am running a Pioneer head unit. Direct iPod control (charges the iPod as well). CD player that will play compressed music files. AM/FM tuner, although I hardly use these, I just listen to the iPod. It doesn't have bluetooth, although I am sure it would be available on more expensive models.

From memory mine was about $200.

Pioneer have the best tuners with their "supertuners". BUT do not expect good AM performance from any Japanese unit except the Eurovox OEM radios. Pioneer will give best FM performance.

The "young Lad" at JB HIFI also reckons that JVC tuners are good.
JB HIFI was running out a Pioneer to your requirements with Ipod controller for $271 AFAIR.
I want to buy one but my old OEM Eurovox now 18 ( can vote now) just will not die.

I've just ripped out the LR unit and installed a DEH 4250SD - In-dash CD player with extensive media connectivity :: Pioneer Australia.

Well pleased given the standard issue one could pick up the BBC Home Service and nothing else.
