Hard wired phone kits with antenae do they exist?

Since the 1980's I have had hard wired phones in my RRc. The phone is due to be replaced but I am having almost no luck finding a phone that has a hard wired kit, let alone an external antennae jack.

I don't like BlueTooth, they always seem crackly and the time delay really annoys me.

Are there any current phone recommendations to solve these problems?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Yes. When we had to change to Telstra next G, I bought 2 LG phones off them on the condition they gave me 2 hard wired car kits. They did..
I am using they same antenna as the didgital I had before. Its 3 or 4 db gain I think.
The phones are blue tick and dont have any bars out here but still work. When in the kit they get 4 bars up.
I can find the boxes for the model no if you like.
    Hope this helps.

The model would be great - sometimes they also put the model inside the battery box.

Modern bluetooth kits are really really good. Have a look at the Parrot range.

In modern cars they put the caller through the car radio speakers. Call quality is much much better than the old style kit, I wouldn't go back.

Not sure how they'd connect it though in older cars. But worth investigating to see if it could be made to work.

thecarkitcompany.com.au fitted a Parrot to my FL2 at work.

Thanks Max - The Car Kit Company in Artamon fitted and upgraded my current Sony Ericsson phone, I'll give them a call.

when you say hard wired, do you want a car kit with a proper wired in cradle that you clip your existing mobile phone into, or do you want literally a phone thats permenantly mounted in your car like the ones back in the 80's?

i know as of a couple of years ago you could still get the car mounted phones, a friend has one in his truck, if you'd like i'll drop past on the weekend and find out what model nokia it is

No a the hard wired kit is a cradle that your phone clips into. The kit charges the phone, and connects it to an external speaker, external microphone, external antenna and even mutes the car stereo when you're talking on the phone.
