Does bluetooth pair with sim card or device firmware?

Stuff like bt headphones don't have sim cards..

But a call came through the Defender handsfree yesterday. New phone, I hadn't got around to pairing it. How can this be? Sim card swapped from old phone as normal.

    I'm curious now!

    TIA

It sounds like your new phone has the BT active, and is set to automatically pair.

Bluetooth does not require a sim to be inserted into a phone, only that the phone, head phones etc be active & paired.

Check your phone settings, and dis-able the auto pairing. Otherwise, you might just pair with someone else that you dont intend to...

As long as the phone didn't say "No" and there were no stupifying drugs involved, then it's considered consentual!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Didn't know that was possible without entering 0000 or 1234!

No such option in the menus - its Android - and it doesn't auto pair with the laptop. Strange.

    Thks
