    Following publication of the new UHF Standards, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is seeking comment on a draft Radiocommunications (Citizen Band Radio Stations) Class Licence Variation 2011 (No. 1) that will vary the Radiocommunications (Citizen Band Radio Stations) Class Licence 2002.

    Following consultation between the ACMA, industry and the public in the context of the ACMA’s review of the 400 MHz band, the ACMA proposes to increase the number of radiofrequency channels in the UHF Citizen Band.

    The ACMA proposes to vary the Radiocommunications (Citizen Band Radio Stations) Class Licence 2002 (the CB Class Licence) to facilitate operation on the new channels. Other proposed variations to the CB Class Licence include variations to:
    • facilitate the transmission of electronic identification and location information;
    • relax the duty cycle restriction for telemetry and telecommand transmissions;
    • improve the regulatory effectiveness of the CB Class Licence;
    • prohibit the indirect linking of repeater stations; and
    • prohibit the linking of CB stations.
    Not sure how relevant all this is to us Land Rover folk but further information can be found here: ACMA - IFC 03/2011

    Cheers

    first they make me change me phone to that new fangled cdma,,,

    I did it -cost me money

    then they made me get rid of the new cdma and replace it with a new digital..,,,

    bastards, I did, -cost me money

    then they pretty much let any clown use a CB, made my am 40 channel virtually useless... replaced it with UHF - cost me lotsa money

    got selcall (why not? it was a good idea too)

    now theyve introduced a new UHF... and I'll have to update...it'll cost me money!!

    My HF is an older set but works sweetly....but you know what them bastards are gonna do dont you??

    (Im assuming wiring and aerials will all stay the same just the tuning and set etc change??)

    cheers

    Perhaps we should ask for a CB Buyback Levy?

    You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    OH DONT GET ME STARTED ON THAT DEBARCLE!!

    first my pram wheel was OK, then I had to change to a stoller, after that I had a wheeled walking frame, then a go cart, then a small wagon, a trike nd then a bike with training wheels and then I turned 5..... I wont keep telling you about it, but none of these had the same size wheels or tyres....none where interchangeable or even really easy to repair.

    now they change all the frequencies, we'll all be 'rooned" !!

    (by the way the last question of my post was a real question.... if anyone can advise, cheers)
