External 12v (anderson?) connection on D2

    Hi all,

I want to run power back to our trailer so I can run our Dometic 3 way fridge while on the road. I could put it in the rear of the D2, but we will be taking an 80L eski as well, so I figured it would keep cooler in the back with the stinky dogs.

My old D2 had an anderson plug under the rear bumper. The new one doesn't. How would I wire one up? Piggy back it off the rear accessory socket perhaps? Does immersion pose a problem with an external socket (will it short out in water and blow fuses etc)?

    IS this a dumb idea?

    Cheers

    Wil

you can run it from the accessories power at your trailer plug, but personally I would run a dedicated line in 6mm2 from the battery with a self resetting circuit breaker that way there is no chance of voltage drop or excessive current draw
